Luca’s BOOKFOR Armchair is constructed entirely from recycled materials including iron bars recovered from reinforced concrete, rubber tips from old walking sticks, and clothing, plastic material and paper remnants. A4estudio present us with this masterpiece of concrete, glass and aluminum located in Mendoza, Argentina. The low profile home shows a combination of materials that ties to the landscape. Boulders and stone walls seems to emerge and meet the cantilevered concrete structure and the middle outdoor space, acting more like an industrial atrium and bringing sun and green to the inside through the glass panels and doors. The interior is fresh and...

The Boomerang Wok by Nikolai Carels allows you to flip omelets back onto themselves or cook without flinging food out of your pan. The pan has a strategically-designed inner lip that curves inward to keep food from flying over the edge. From the website: Stir-frying enables you put a delicious, varied and healthy meal on the table in no time at all. Unfortunately, when stir-frying some of the ingredients do tend to end up next to the pan. However,...

At last! Retailers are upping their game. Some seem to no longer be just following outdoor designers. They are starting to lead and innovate. What this means is that truly innovative outdoor designs are about to be way more widespread and accessible. I love this example of a full outdoor kitchen, classically a very high ticket item. Leroy Merlin , a French/European version of Walmart, are offering this modular…  Read More →

The Magisso Cake Server was a big hit when we posted it late last year and now they’ve lowered the price and launched a plastic version available in a few fun colors . This simple tool, designed by Finnish art and design student Maria Kivijärvi, slices cakes into the perfect single slice. Just cut and then squeeze the handle to keep the cake slice intact until it reaches your plate. © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings...

There are a lot of iPad cases floating around there…probably many more than the quota of iPad’s purchased thus far. From glossy print and plastic covers, to felt (everywhere!), there’s something for everyone. Here at Design Milk, we thought we’d review the iPad-as-book trend that’s been popping up. Most emulate the classic hardcover notebook, but some take a distinctly different approach, channeling vintage design...

Why bother choosing just one color for your wall when you can have a rainbow cake and eat it too. Wait, that doesn’t make sense. Whatever. Anyway, Sally Kuchar has finished her paint chip wall project and I think it’s such a fun idea, especially for a rental. Who else but Sally would also wear neon green high top sneakers? © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Interior Design | Permalink | 3 comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook...

Psychic Factory came out with this concept that I find very appealing, even for the modern amateur DJ like myself. Can you imagine mixing and scratching from the couch while streaming the tunes to your wireless speakers? I can.
