Haus Elise by Synn Architects

March 19th, 2010 admin

Haus Elise by Synn Architects is a beauty. White walls and concrete really gets my heart going! The way the home office looks from the street at night makes it look like a doll house. I can assure, though, that blinds are installed for privacy. The zebra wood-looking stairs become a design element leading upstairs. The only change I would have made would be to make a sliding partition for the tub in the master… just for privacy. ©2010 Design Milk | Posted by Joel in Architecture | Permalink | 1 comment | Tweet This | Share on Facebook More Milk: Art Milk | Dog Milk

S-House in Australia by Architects EAT
The S-House by Architects EAT is nestled on the hills of Templestowe in Australia and features beautiful views of Mount Dandenong. New York Town House by Alexander Gorlin Architects
New York Town House by Alexander Gorlin Architects
The firm was invited to modernize and add an additional top floor to a rare 1950’s glass-fronted, two-story family townhouse on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. A large, open living area on the first floor leads through to a kitchen overlooking the rear garden. Cantilevered stairs, flooded by daylight from a large skylight, lead to the...

Ceramic House by García & Ruiz Architects
The Ceramic House by García & Ruiz is located in Spain. It’s a converted attic space belonging to an old building. There’s a lot of space flexibility — spaces intercept each other, creating and merging into another dimension. The muted palette helps to make the illusion of a bigger space. The only problem that I see is...
Santa Barbara II in Argentina by Arquitectonika
Santa Barbara II in Argentina by Arquitectonika
Arquitectonika finished this great home in Argentina back in 2005. The back of the house is mostly glass and opens to the backyard via several sliding glass doors, in contrast to the front of the house, which looks very discreet. Well placed windows do double work for bringing the light in but also allow the owners to keep some privacy. © 2010...

Lab in Nebraska by Randy Brown Architects
Randy Brown purchased this property in Omaha, Nebraska and decided to move his family into the house while phasing construction projects. The project is a living laboratory for architectural experiments. The home is a combination of rusted steel and vintage-y looking wood that almost make it look like a modern abandoned mine. I like the use of...

This home in Japan by a.un Architects offers an extensive use of wood both externally and internally.
