B House in Italy by Damilano Studio

January 1st, 2010 admin

This is a house that was built for entertainment. Look at the pool side, the deck, the big opening glass on the living room…even the floor is porcelain for easy care. The great floor plan and stainless steel kitchen get my stamp of approval. This home in Japan by a.un Architects offers an extensive use of wood both externally and internally. With incredible views of the sea and pristine interiors, the home reflects the owners’ desire to stay away from the more typical concrete and glass formula, creating this very warm and cozy atmosphere. S-House in Australia by Architects EAT
The S-House by Architects EAT is nestled on the hills of Templestowe in Australia and features beautiful views of Mount Dandenong. This home was designed purely for entertainment with many split levels and a continuous open space that provides some privacy and places for retreat. Love the contrast between the geometric shapes of the house and...

Sotogrande House in Spain by A-cero
A-cero presents a single-family, two-story house on the Mediterranean coast that is designed to be used for the summer holiday. White is the main element in the house’s decoration to provide clarity and relaxation. The ground floor has all public rooms while the second floor has private dwellings. The furniture, also designed by A-cero, includes...

Water-Cooled House in Singapore by Wallflower Architecture
Wallflower Architecture produced another great home. This one is located at Ewart Park in Singapore and makes the use of a reflection pool as its means of cooling during the hot summer days. Once you get to the second story via a nicely integrated spiral stair you will be surrounded by water. It’s like being on a boat house that doesn’t...

House in the Andes by Juan Carlos Doblado
This “Casa en los Andes” feels like sitting in a piece of furniture with a beautiful view of the mountains. The picture perfect minimalistic design blends into the earth and doesn’t try to compete with the amazing surroundings. The interior features my favorite color combo: raw concrete and burnt orange. Lots and lots of light...
Ceramic House by García & Ruiz Architects
Ceramic House by García & Ruiz Architects
The Ceramic House by García & Ruiz is located in Spain. It’s a converted attic space belonging to an old building. There’s a lot of space flexibility — spaces intercept each other, creating and merging into another dimension. The muted palette helps to make the illusion of a bigger space. The only problem that I see is...
Rodríguez Harvey House by Nicolás Loi Architects
Rodríguez Harvey House by Nicolás Loi Architects
When Nicolás Loi created this home, he placed the right elements in the right place. The support columns underneath makes the whole structure float in this rural environment. The wrap around deck invites guest to experience the outdoor that can even be seen from the inside due to the — never excessive — use of glass. Dark wood exterior...

Riverside Drive Penthouse in New York by Belmont Freeman Architects
The combination of two apartments by Belmont Freeman Architects , located at the top of a landmark art deco tower, creates a flowing loft-like living space. A new kitchen is screened from the living room by a partial-height wall, while oversized glass doors open out onto large terraces. A blue-gray terrazzo floor is used throughout to unify the...

Shell House in Japan by Far East Design Lab
Love this house by Far East Design Lab . I especially like the corrugated ceiling and odd shape. Located in Hiratsuka City, the steel structured is a little over 1200 square feet on one story.
