Hard to believe that’s what a computer mouse used to look like on the inside. I still remember having to scrape the accumulated lint off that ball with an X-acto knife so I could smoothly work my 72-dpi Photoshop renderings. The photo is part of Flickr user raneko’s excellent ” 25 Years of Apple Mouse Evolution ” series, which ranges from the 1984 brick to the 2009 Magic Mouse. via cult of mac (more…)

Mr. Rogers and Cultural Spheres...Several Harvard Students discuss the impact of objects, namely a pixelated life-sized poster of Mr. Rogers upon which they have drawn and gained experience from. The discussion mostly centers around cultural labels, ingroup/outgroup biases, and the creation of community around politicized objects. This video was created for a History of Science class named "Rethinking the Object", which took off from a museum exhibition by Bruno Latour and Peter Weibel called "Making Things Public: Atmospheres of Democracy"
